Fabio Fares
President

Founder of Grupo Forship, possesses 30 years experience in Engineering and Business Undertakings. Naval Engineer graduated from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), in 1978, and postgraduate in Computer Systems Engineering  (COPPE-UFRJ). Embarked on career in Lloyd Brasileiro, in 1976, engaged in shipbuilding, and in the Naval Engineering Director’s Office in the Brazilian Navy (DEN). As an entrepreneur, was also founder and director of the companies, Projenav and ECR Ship.

Marco Fares
Vice-President of Energy / Project Director

In Grupo Forship since 2000, graduate in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), in 1979. With vast experience in management, worked in companies concerned with electricity generation and distribution, civil construction, oil & gas, and consulting. In Forship, has accumulated the positions of Director of Projects and Vice-President of Energy. Among the outstanding projects he has directed: commissioning of the thermal power stations: Ibirité and Termopernambuco; PRA1 repumping platform; and the ongoing Operation and Maintenance at the Termoaçu thermoelectric power plant .

Paulo Elias
Vice-President of Oil & Gas / Executive-Director of Forship Asia Pte

First degree in Naval Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), in 1978, and postgraduate in Processing Equipment (course run by Petrobras). Prior to joining Grupo Forship, in 2000, had accumulated 20 years experience in engineering, coordination and management of commissioning in Petrobras, plus two years as commissioning manager in Marítima Overseas Inc.. At present, responsible for the company’s Far East arm, namely Forship Asia.

Antonio Prates
Director of Engineering / Project Director

Holder of master’s degrees in Information Technology from PUC-Rio and Naval Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), in 1978, he directs the Engineering Dept. and the Project Management Dept.. Prior to joining Grupo Forship in 2003, had worked in the following sectors: naval (Emaq and Verolme shipbuilding companies ), engineering (Engevix, Promon Engenharia, and Promon Eletrônica), telecommunications (Amdocs), and web projects (Bowne Global Solutions).

M. Frank Erwin P.E.
International Business Development Consultant

Electrical Engineer for over 35 years, possesses great international experience in energy, oil & gas sectors. Has acted in the areas of electric power generation, business development, marketing, and asset management, and been in charge of innumerable projects in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and North and South America. Throughout career, this executive has worked for major corporations, such as, General Electric, Mission Energy, Sumitomo and Cogentrix.

Roberto Rocha
Project Director

Mechanical engineer with postgraduation in Systems Analysis, extension course and practical phase in Japan, run by AOTS / IHI, and MBA in Project Management from FGV and Universidad de OHIO - EUA. Joined Forship soon after its foundation in 1998 as Operations Manager, leading the commissioning teams contracted for platforms P-33, P-35, P-36, P-37, P-38 and P-40. In 2000, he assumed as Director of Forship’s Production Department, in charge of the Production, Procurement and Logistics management (responsible for coordination and performance of all field activities for onshore and offshore contracts). During 17 years he had worked for Ishibras (Ishikawajima do Brasil Estaleiros S.A) in the naval project department and in the fabrication department leading the fabrication and piping tests sections. In 2005/2006 he assumed as Operations Manager in Vetco Aibel, but returned to Forship in December 2006 assuming as Operations Director.

Alvaro Gonçalves Neto
Project Manager

With 40 years experience, this executive has been in Grupo Forship since 2003. Graduated in Mechanical Industrial Engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), plus postgraduation in Contract Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). With expertise in the commercial area, is a specialist in international commercial negotiations, bids and formation of consortiums. Previously worked for Grupo Cia. Comércio e Navegação, Estaleiro Mauá, CEC Equipamentos, AARAUJO, and Cia. Brasileira de Amarras, among others.

Cláudia Barroso
Financial Administration Director

Responsible for management of the areas of, Accounting, Control, Finance, Administration and Human Resources, has been a member of the Forship team since 2007. Business Administration graduate from Faculdade Cândido Mendes, and possesses 20 years experience. As an executive, was President-Director of Gestetner do Brasil S/A, and also worked in the companies, Presta Administradora de Cartões de Crédito S/A, as Product Manager, and Brasif Electronics S/A, as Importation Supervisor.

Luciano Gaete
Information Technology Manager / Director of HMSWeb Ltd

Holder of master’s degrees in Business Administration from FGV-Ebape, graduate in Data Processing Technology, postgraduate in Corporate Finance from PUC, and also possesses a postgraduate qualification in Telecommunications Management from FGV-Epge. I.T. professional for 15 years, seven of which spent in Grupo Forship, in charge of the Information Technology and HMSWeb, the latter developing I.T. solutions for management and control of engineering projects. Previously worked for Amdocs (Brasil) as Infrastructure Coordinator, responsible for installing various systems for Billing and CRM of the present day Claro Celular, as well as Banco Bozano Simonsen, Medusa Automação Industrial, and IBM, always engaged in I.T. 

Nestor Caputo
Director of Corporate Materials

Graduated in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Nacional de Buenos Aires, possesses over 40 years of experience (31 in Brazil) in technology of materials and technical evaluations, negotiation of contracts for material procurement. In Forship since 1999, has also acted in the Quality, Logistical and Support Materials Department; Supplies, and is currently responsible for the Corporate Materials Department. For 18 years, engaged by Grupo Odebrecht acting in Offshore Projects area as manager of Prefabrication, Quality and Subcontracting. Also spent five years in the heavy-duty boiler sector in Biselli Nordeste Ltda, as Engineering and Production manager.
